My husband, Darrell Harris and I are both Idaho natives. We have lived in the Boise Valley all of our lives. I am known as "Mrs. Marilynn" to all of my students. I have been in the Christian Preschool and child care business since 1971. We are now beginning to reap the harvest of second generation families in our center.

We are a small environment which enables us to work one-on-one more often with each child. We are a locally-owned private run Christian facility which gives us a more personal advantage over many of the chain organizations.

I am currently the Idaho representative for ACSI. (ACSI stands for Association of Christian Schools International.) My job as an Idaho Representative is to hold monthly meetings with other Directors of Christian Preschools. As the chairman of the Idaho region I must attend a fall preschool conference, a spring Administrators Conference and area workshops. ACSI has representatives all over the world. As the Idaho Representative I am asked to lead meetings and often be a speaker at conferences.

We at Boise Learning Center firmly believe in Early Education of young children. We have seen the advantages our children have over children who do not attend preschool.

There has been overwhelming research done that proves children who attend a good preschool do better in school, are more likely to graduate from high school, go on to college, stay out of trouble with the law, and as a result they get the better jobs!

Statistics have shown that children who attend preschool are greatly advanced and better prepared for Kindergarten and first grade. We feel that preschool is one of the child's first steps in preparing for life. We teach them how to listen, obey and learn. When children have a good foundation in preschool it builds their self-confidence, it helps teach them how to learn so they are naturally better prepared for a school environment.
